One of the best ways to see the wildlife of Uganda is on board a boat cruise on the Kazinga Channel, a 32-kilometre-long freshwater channel that links Lake Edward to Lake George. After a short ride from Fort Portal town to the shores of Lake Edward, you will embark on a four-hour boat trip. You are likely to encounter a range of birdlife, including herons and egrets, moorhens and kingfishers. The trip takes over four hours and includes stops to take in the views, hike a bit, do some bird watching and more. The water is so transparent that you can see all the hippos, crocs, and fish from your boat as you pass. The channel is home to a wide range of animals and birds, including one of the world’s largest concentrations of hippos and countless Nile crocodiles. If you ever wanted to experience the true meaning of “Adventurous”, this is the place.
