Gorilla Trekking
How much is a gorilla permit?
Uganda gorilla permits cost $800 USD for foreign non-residents, $700 for foreign residents, and UGX 300,000 for East African citizens. Book early — permits sell out months in advance!
What's the best time for gorilla trekking?
June-September and December-February are dry seasons with easier trekking. However, gorillas can be tracked year-round. Rainy season means fewer crowds and lush scenery!
How difficult is the trek?
Treks range from 1-6 hours depending on gorilla location. Moderate fitness is required — you'll hike through dense forest at altitude (2,200-2,500m). Porters are available to assist.
